Ideal Sparrow

Poet: Shafia Kapoor By: Shafia Kapoor, Pakistan

When I will be there where I should be?
When I will be there where I want to be?
When I will be there where I always dream to be?

I wish to be a nightingale
So I could fly to my dream land
To fulfill my dreams
To serve my deen
To play a role like that sparrow
Who filled her beak with water
And tried to douse the fire
In which Namrood had thrown Ibraheem علیہ السلام
It was not enough
But she tried
She struggled
She practiced what she could do
Likewise today's Namrood has thrown
Muslim ummah into a fire
Muslims are burning
Desperately crying for help

I know i can’t do much
For my brothers and sisters in Islam
But at least I can struggle like that sparrow
I can help the ummah with my writing ability
Like that ideal sparrow
Who did not give up.
Let's go together and pluck
Roses of hope for those
Who’re left alone in the desert of life
Let's burn for them a candle of light

Let’s all of us play our roles.
Allah will help us reach our goals
