The Prayer Of Mother Earth

Poet: Shakira Nandini By: Shakira Nandini, Oporto

The Mother stares
through her glares
"stop hurting me"
heard in every scream
harvest the Earth
take me away from death
greet me up in the sky
look beyond darkness
for their is a better view
Mother Earth waking up
begs to free from captivity
and the thanking of birds
fluttering could be heard
the harbinger of joy
animals toiling around
expressing gratitude
the flowers blithely blooming
the trees merrily swinging
the rivers swiftly flowing
the mountains standing
the sounds getting louder
of love and peace
save me from death
and wake me to life.
