The festival of Sacrifice or the greater Eid of 2022 is expected to fall on 09th July in Pakistan. The expected dates for Eid ul Adha 2022 in Pakistan are 09th July till 12th July. However, the authorities have yet to confirm the dates through the Zil Hajj moon sighting. The Central Ruet e Hilal Committee will be announcing the Eid dates and holidays as per the moon sighting in 2022.

The Eid ul Adha is the highest sacrificial event in Islamic history. The Islamic tradition dated back to the practice performed by Prophet Ibrahim while sacrificing his son. The compliance and willingness showed by the Prophet Ibrahim was intervened by Allah and provided with a lamb for slaughtering. Since then, the tradition was known as Qurbani where Muslims all around the world slaughter an animal as a sign of displaying willingness and obedience to Allah

Eil ul Adha is mostly celebrated for three days in Pakistan. However, the official public holidays in Pakistan are mostly for two days. Various provinces and regions differ in Eid timings that depend upon the moon sighting.
