AIOU extends admission date

Islamabad: Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU)
has extended the last date for admission spring 2016 session from
secondary school certificate (SSC) to postgraduate-level programmes till
April 11 with late fee.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shahid Siddiqui decided to extend the date,
enabling the continuing and fresh students to take admission in the
spring session. The decision was taken on the demands of prospective
students and in view of security situation in the federal capital in
recent days.
According to Director Admissions Syed Ziaul Hassain, applications for
Matric programme will be received with late charges of Rs200, CT and
FA/BA Rs400 and BEd and all postgraduate programmes Rs1000. There will
be no further extension of the admissions’ date.
Prospectuses and admission Forums are available from the sale points of
University’s main campus and its country-wide Regional Campuses and
Coordinating Offices.
Meanwhile, the university has announced that it will continue its policy
of providing financial assistance to the needy and deserving students
enabling them to continue their future study.
There are about nine financial assistance/scholarships’ schemes which
support such students, Dr. Shahid Siddiqui said adding “We want to
ensure that fee-payment should not be a hurdle in educational pursuits
“Nobody should be deprived of education because of financial
constraints, he added.
