LAHORE - Pakistan’s taekwondo team, which returned home after their triumphant performance in the Taekwondo Championship in Nepal where they won as many as 15, was accorded a warm welcome on their arrival at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport. Pakistan’s Olympics individual member Syed Waseem Hashmi, Member POA Environment Commission Tehmina Asif and Pakistan Taekwondo Federation (PTF) executive member Zubair Macha were present at the airport. They warmly received the medal winners and presented bouquets and ajraks to them to felicitate them on their accomplishments in Nepal. Hamza Omar Saeed, Mazhar Abbas and Shahzaib defeated their Indian counterparts in the finals of their respective categories of the Khyurogi event. Overall, Pakistan grabbed 15 medals including six
gold medals, three
silver medals, and six bronze in the Mount Everest Open Taekwondo International Championship.
