| میرا سلیم صاحب سے کراچی کے حالات سیاست یا اسلام کی عظمت و حقانیت پر کو ئی اختلاف نہیں نہ مجھے ایم کیو ایم سے کوئی دلچسپی ہے میرا شدید اختلاف وہاں سے شروع ہوتا جب وہ گلے کاٹنے نمازیوں کو قتل کرنے سکول جلانے اور معصوم بچوں کو ڈھال بنا کر مروانے والے نام نہاد مفرور جہادی اور دہشت گردوں کو عاشقان رسول اور محسن اسلام قرار دینےکی ظالمانہ کوشش کرتے ہیں اسلام گلے کاٹنے یا معصوم لوگوں میں بم دھماکوں یا خدا کے گھر کو دہشت گردوں کا گھر بنانےیا انتہا گردی سے نہیں پھیلا اسلام اخلاق محبت ایثار ایمانداری اور بھائی چارے سے پھیلا میں امریکہ اور یورپ کے بہت سفر کرتا ہوں مجھے پتہ ہے لوگ اسلام کو بھیانک مزہب سمجھتے ہیں میں انہیں اسلام کی تصویر دیکھنے کے لئے حضور کا آخری خطبہ پڑھنے کا مشورہ دیتا ہوں مگر اسلام میں ایسا کہاں ہے کہ بم بندوق لے کر اندھا دھند گلیوں بازاروں مسجدوں مزاروں میں لوگوں کو مارنے لگ جاؤ اور کہو کہ ہم اسلام پھیلا رہے ہیں لال مسجد کا مکار سپہ سالار بچوں کو شہادت کا سبق پڑھاتا رہا بچے دل کے سچے شہید ہوتے رہے مگر جب سپہ سالار کی باری آئی تو وہ دنیا پرست برقعہ پہن کر نکل گیا ایسے لوگ اسلام کے نام پر اہل ایمان کا استحصال کرنے والے ہیں یہ عاشقان رسول ہرگز نہیں خدا کے لئے دنیا کو دھوکہ دینا بند کریں |

مفاد پرست انڈین اور امریکن ایجنٹوں نے اپنے مذموم سیاسی اور ذاتی مفادات کے لئے کراچی اور بلوچستان میں ہزاروں لوگوں کو مروا دیا اور خود لندن اور دبئی میں اپنے شاندار محلوں میں بیٹھے ہیں آج اگر ہم ان منحوس انڈین ایجنٹوں، علیحدگی پسندوں، کے خلاف نہ اٹھ کھڑے ہونگے تو کراچی میں ٹارگٹ کلنگ یونہی ہوتی رہے گی اور بے گناہ عوام اور ان کے بچے مرتے رہیں گے۔ کراچی میں میڈیا موت کے خوف سے ان کے خلاف کچھ نہیں بولتا انہی مفاد پرستوں کی وجہ سے دنیا بھر میں کراچی اور پاکستان کا امیج خراب ہورہا ہے۔ کراچی سے سرمایہ پنجاب منتقل ہورہا ہے یہاں کی صنعتیں بند ہورہی ہیں۔ بھتہ خوری کی ابتدا جنہوں نے کی ہے آج ان کے بھتے میں کئی حصے دار آگئے ہیں تو وہ لوگ چلا رہے ہیں۔
یہ مفاد پرست لوگ جنہوں نے کراچی میں اسکولوں کا جنازہ نکال دیا، نقل کلچر کو فروغ دیا، جعلی ڈگری اور جعلی ووٹنگ کے ذریعے اسمبلیوں میں پہنچنے والے یہ مفاد پرست عوام کو کیا دے سکتے ہیں؟؟
صرف بوری بند لاشیں، صرف بھتہ خوری اور قتل و غارت گری
ہماری اس فورم کے ذریعے ارباب اختیار سے گزارش ہے کہ وہ برطانوی شہری جو کہ کراچی کے حالات خراب کررہے ہیں ان کو برطانیہ سے یہاں لاکر سخت سے سخت سزا دی جائے تاکہ وہ اپنے ٹیلیفونک خطابات کے ذریعے یہاں اتشار نہ پھیلائیں۔
خود سے تو وہ پاکستان آنے سے رہا نہ وہ بیس سالوں سے پاکستان آیا ہے نہ آئے گا ۔
اس کے حالی موالی ایسے ہی لوگوں کو گمراہ کرتے رہیں گے
ان لوگوں کا حال یہ ہے کہ لیاقت آباد ڈاکخانہ چورنگی پر مہاجر صوبے کے نام سے مظاہرہ کرتے ہوئے انہوں نے جان بوجھ کر چورنگی پر موجود عاشقان رسول صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ( علم دین شہید، عبد القیوم شہید، عامر چیمہ شہید ) کے پورٹریٹ پر عین چہروں پر اپنے پوسٹر لگا کر یہ پیغام دیا ہے کہ یہ عاشقان رسول صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم اور اسلام کے دشمن ہیں |

| جمیل صاحب سے میرا ایک سوال ہے کہ کراچی میں جو اتنی خون ریزی ہوتی ہے تو کیا وجہ ہے کہ کبھی کوئی لیڈر نہیں مرتا صرف غریب کارکنان مرتے ہیں یا بے گناہ لوگ مرتےہیں۔ یہاں بھی نہ تو ایم کیو ایم کے فاروق ستار پر کبھی حملہ ہوتا ہے، نا حیدر عباس رضوری پر، نہ فیصل رضا عابدی کو کچھ ہوتا ہے نہ نبیل گبول کو اور نہ ہی شاہی سید کو، جبکہ ایم کیو ایم کے قائد الطاف حسین خود تو لندن کی ٹھنڈی فضاؤں میں بیٹھے ہوئے ہیں لیکن غریب کے بچوں کو مرواتے رہتے ہیں ۔ ملاؤں پر تو آپ نے بڑی آسانی سے تنقید کرلی۔ لیکن یہ نہیں بتایا کہ غازی عبدالرشید لال مسجد میں ہی شہید ہوئے، مولانا اعظم طارق اسلام آباد میں شہید ہوئے، مفتی نظام الدین شامزئی، مولانا یوسف لدھیانوی شہید، اور ایسے کئی نام ہیں جو یہاں شہید ہوئےہیں ۔ اگر مالاؤں کی آڑ میں اسلام پر تنقید سے فرصت ملے تو کبھی اس پر بھی غور کرنا |

In retaliation to rejection, the Laal Masjid terrorists attacked the army personnel around the mosque. They went further to burn the building of the Environment Ministry adjacent to the mosque. A senior army officer was killed and huge damage to property occurred.
Immediate army ‘action’ was now inevitable but Chaudhry Shujaat wanted to make one last effort before the final operation started. His attempt failed.
The scheduled action very early in the morning was delayed by an hour due to Chaudhry Shujaat’s presence in the mosque and when he left, some morning light revealed the commando positions; they were fired at and were killed. Other commandos successfully took positions. Colonel Haroon Islam made a bid to free the hostages locked up in a room. He risked his life and went to blow a hole in the wall of their cell. The wall was breached, all hostages escaped, but Colonel Haroon Islam lost his life in crossfire.
By this time a total of 97 militants were left in the mosque. They fought. Ninety-four of these got killed, three escaped. There were 94 dead bodies, including Rashid and four hostages killed by the militants and found locked in a basement.
The dead were buried in a graveyard in Islamabad. There were no women or children among the dead. Five or six male foreigners were among the dead.
Laal Masjid as the forward-post of al Queda was cleared.
However, most of those who were allowed to leave before the ‘action’ joined the uprising in Swat and Waziristan.
In the aftermath,: propaganda of a ‘massacre of innocents’ continues by the Taliban, pro-Taliban individuals, and ill-informed politicians keen to discredit the Pakistan Army and the government by twisting the facts. It needs to stop.

The Aziz brothers had made the decision about which side they were on and obviously it was al Qaeda’s. Al Qaeda strategy was to heighten the conflict, make ‘sacrifices’ and use those as a pretext for a larger uprising. They had gathered more than 20,000 men in Waziristan, ready for action.
Then the Laal Masjid militants attacked the Army Rangers who guarded it, the military responded, and the siege of the Laal Masjid intensified.
To avoid collateral loss, on July 4, 2007, the government offered amnesty to juvenile students if they surrendered and over 1,000 students accepted, and were allowed to leave. Abdul Aziz Ghazi tried to escape in a ‘burqa’, but he was spotted and arrested. Abdul Rashid was repeatedly asked to surrender but he refused. Instead, he proposed that if the government would give him and his militant students a safe passage without surrendering arms, and allow him to live in his home village, he would hand over Laal Masjid, Jamia Hafsa and Jamia Faridia to the Wafaqul Madaris. This proposal was a trick and fraught with very dangerous consequences. A considerable number of trained militants with arms would have gone scot-free and brought havoc to the city of Islamabad. It was a trick to get out of the ‘hole’. This proposal could not be acceptable for security considerations.

Then the Chinese president directly approached the president of Pakistan, General Pervez Musharraf, and requested measures for the safety of the Chinese people.
The government machinery had to move with determination. However every effort was to be made to reach a peaceful settlement, and if army action became inevitable, then minimum damage to life and property was to be ensured. President General Pervez Musharraf ordered ensuring the safety of the hostages at every cost. Facilities were also to be extended to the surrounding area inhabitants.
As the first step, the Laal Masjid was cordoned off and the movement of the occupants was restricted. Appeals were made to the occupants to vacate the mosque. Politicians including Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Ijazul Haq tried. The Imam-e-Ka’aba arrived to convince the mosque occupants to desist from militancy but all were shunned. Even the Eidhis made appeals. Hanif Jalandhari, the head of Wafaqul Madaris, tried his best to resolve the matter.
Nothing worked.

Religious activists, wearing masks, also staged a demonstration before the Friday prayers. Burqa-clad girl students of the Hafsa madrassa kept a vigil atop the seminary’s roof. The activists were chanting “Al Jihad, Al Jihad”. Islamabad was besieged by terrorists, policemen were abducted, and elsewhere, foreign engineers and technicians, particularly the Chinese, were abducted and killed. Pakistan’s tested friend China was being targeted to isolate Pakistan.
Then came the attack of Laal Masjid terrorists on a Chinese beauty parlour. The raiders beat up Chinese men and women and abducted them. The situation grew to international proportions.
Civil society and the media were pressing for some action. The government was even being accused of complicity by the media and civil society. The constraints of the government because of al Qaeda’s possible reaction were not fully known.

A woman alleged to be the owner of a suspected ‘brothel’ was kidnapped by the women students of Jamia Hafsa — who were still in illegal occupation of a children’s library.
The Aziz brothers declared the establishment of a ‘Shariat Court’ and vowed to enforce Islamic laws in the federal capital. “Our youth will commit suicide attacks if the government impedes the enforcement of the shariah and attacks Laal Masjid and its sister concerns,” Maulana Abdul Aziz said in his Friday sermon.
The fresh suicide bombing threat intensified fears among Islamabad residents. They were reminded that the suicide bomber who had attacked Islamabad’s Marriott Hotel in January 2007 had been seen near the mosque the same day.

The government of Pakistan was left with little option except contemplating a serious action to control or... remove the al Qaeda forward ‘morcha’ (battalion) in Islamabad. Al Qaeda associates and fighters were working on their own strategy. Thousands of students were kept as hostages in the Laal Masjid (Red Mosque) to serve the purpose of a human shield when need be. Holding cells had been constructed in the mosque and the Laal Masjid was abundantly armed. They were ready for initiatives.
