Now with Traffic e-challans in effect, the cameras at traffic junctions catch and fine any vehicle violating the traffic signals. This works well if the signals are electronically controlled. However on many occasions and at many junctions, the Traffic police take over and control traffic, while the light signals are still working. This will result in receiving e-challans automatically as the camera system will capture the vehicles going across red signals. I propose that unless the lights and cameras are disabled the traffic police must not resort to manual control.
