The International cricket in
Pakistan has banned since 2009 after the attack on Srilanka team in Lahore,
since then Pakistan have not host even a single international cricket match.
Pakistan was have to host the world cup 2011 but due to the serious security
threats and deteriorating Condition of peace all the matches were hosted
by India, Srilanka and Bangladesh.
There is a serious loss of in the economy of Pakistan while playing in the most
expensive venues of Dubai and Abu Dhabi as a home ground. Though the former army
chief General Raheel Sharif had started the counterterrorist operation so called
“Zarb –e Azab. Karachi whose Peace was fully destroyed in the hands of
terrorists, it was a big challenge to bring peace back to the city, Rangers were
allowed to conduct the operations against TTP, Al Qaeda group. And other
military wings. Now this city is secure and peaceful as compared to the older
times.
Najam Sethi the one of the PCB official decided to organize Pakistan’s biggest
cricket event. The Pakistan super league. Whose 1st edition was played in United
Arab Emirates. In the year 2017 the second edition, Najam Sethi make attempts to
play the PSL 2017 final in Lahore.
By the grace of god, along with security forces Police, Army and Rangers
involvement in the security of the grand final. As a result of the deliberate
efforts made by the PCB. We succeeded to set the final in Lahore. Though
Peshawar Zalmi has won the title but actually this was the Victory of our
nation. Many big names of the Caribbean stars like Darren Sammy, Marlon Samuels
and others played the final. This gave a clear message that Pakistan is a land
of peace.
Actually PSL is the first development to bring International cricket to home.
Najam Sethi has announced that in the PSL 2018,total of 8 matches to be played
in Karachi. That is a good sign for international as well as our domestic level
of cricket. Because the young emerging talented players when allowed to play
along with the big stars like Kevin Peterson, Brendon McCollum, Chris Gayle, ,Eionmorgan
and many more. Also PCB is trying to hire some other Names like AB devillers,
Davidwarner, JamesFaulkner, Bennstokes. If they agree to play the next PSL it
will be proud to all of us as a nation. We must need to make sure strengthen our
security furthermore, because if we succeed hosting at least 8 matches in
Pakistan, then it will be very much helpful for us in hosting the bilateral
series against a top quality side like Australia, India, South Africa and
England. That can only be done by the proper security and Peace. If we fail to
do so then no foreign player will agree to play in Pakistan. Like in the PSL
2017 Kevin Peterson, Luke Wright and Tymal Mills refused to play in Lahore due
to security threats, So maintaining peace and full proof security to foreign
players is a step towards the arrival of international cricket to Pakistan. The
recent operation “Radd ul Fasad” led by the general Qamar Javed Bajwa is a
genuine step against terrorist groups.
