Humblness

(Zara Zeb, )

Humility is one of the greatest blessings that Allaah can bestow upon His slave. He says (interpretation of the meaning):
“And by the Mercy of Allaah, you dealt with them gently. And had you been severe and harsh-hearted, they would have broken away from about you”( Aal ‘Imraan 159).
“And verily, you (O Muhammad) are on an exalted (standard of) character”(al-Qalam 4).
This refers to the Prophet (PBUM) being a true slave of ALLAH(SWT) in many ways and his treating all people with the utmost kindness. His character was one of complete humility based on sincerity towards ALLAH(SWT) and compassion towards the slaves of ALLAH (SWT) which was the complete opposite of the characteristics of the proud and arrogant.

There are many means of attaining humility, which no Muslim adopts but he will attain this characteristic.

Humility comes from knowing about ALLAH (SWT) and His names and attributes, and His greatness, venerating Him, loving Him and being in awe of Him; and also from knowing about oneself and one’s faults, and weaknesses. From that may develop the attitude of humility, which means feeling helpless before ALLAH (SWT), and being humble and compassionate towards His slaves, so that the person does not feel superior towards anyone, or think that he has any rights over anyone else; rather he thinks that others are better than him, and that their rights come before his. This is a characteristic that ALLAH(SWT) gives to those whom He loves, honours and draws close to Him. AS ALLAHA (SWT) Said in Surah Alhaj:

O mankind! A similitude has been coined, so listen to it (carefully): Verily! Those on whom you call besides Allah, cannot create (even) a fly, even though they combine together for the purpose. And if the fly snatched away a thing from them, they would have no power to release it from the fly. So weak are (both) the seeker and the sought. (Surah Alhaj 73).

So Imagine what is our worth and what is the worth of those to whom we give more value than ALLAH (SWT). Why we are so not Obeying ALLAH and Sunnah of Holy Prophet (PBUH) Then why we human being are so arrogant we have not enough power to snatch the thing anything from the fly which snatch anything from our mouth. Think over it what is our worth that we not able to control even single hormone of our body what power of Creator Who Has blessed us with balanced body with hormone never ending flow of blood without disturbing us. Then why we become so arrogant we not able to say thanks to ALLAH to all His blessing. When we say Thanks to ALLAH (SWT) then He increase His blessing as it mention in Quran. In next Ayah ALLAH (SWT) Complaint to our attitude toward ALLAH (SWT) that is:

They have not estimated Allah His Rightful Estimate; Verily, Allah is All-Strong, All-Mighty (Surah Alhaj:74).

That is very true and its represent Human attitude when he get any achievement in life he began to think that he is all and all. All his achievement is only his own effort there is nothing behind but why we forget all that we get it with the blessing of ALLAH (SWT). It was possible that we would not be able to get those opportunities, not born in rich family etc. If we think like that then we would be able to remain humble.

It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah that the Messenger of ALLAH (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Wealth does not decrease because of charity, and ALLAH increases His slave in honour when he forgives others. And no one humbles himself before ALLAH but ALLAH will raise him (in status).”
Its very true when we develop the quality of humbleness in our personality it will increase our status before ALLAHA Almighty and people too. May ALLAHA (SWT) Help us to develop this attribute in our personality and we may become more helpful to others Ameen.
