A journey from Demolition to Redemption

(Faiz ul Hassan Gillani, Chakwal)

The last time Pakistan visited England,6 years ago was a nightmare for whole team, specially mentioning Mohammad Aamir.Today, after 6 years,it was the same ground, against same opponents where this victory set up a new example of how to bounce back from going to nothing. The themes of redemption and rehabilitation has been constant companions for Pakistan in the build-up to what proved to be an epic first test win.In that moment, the most significant aspects of Pakistan’s post-2010 story were pulled as one to lower the blinds on arguably the darkest chapter of their sporting history.

Pakistan Cricket has a really rude Past hanging back after the spot fixing Saga, especially given that the team has been living in exiles for most of the decade already, and to this day restrained to play at their homeland by Geo-politics and sinister creep of terrorism.

Cricket,to be precisely has been on hand to offer relief to entire nation. This historic win will definitely make them let their worries go away for a while and cherish the moment.

This all is something for the recently back M.Aamir who left the exact place in 2010 with head down in demise and guilt. No one could nearly imagine this fairy tale come back of him but Yet,that’s how it has happened. And for that reason, there was something irresistable about the sight of Aamir roaring at Lords on the eve of final evening.

This was Aamir reborn, restored,in the game’s final moments, to that brilliance with which he had first launched his tilt at Lords 6 years ago.He has seized his chance of redemption and now Pakistan,as a nation, needs to hear such a powerful message that better times can come again. And,for this redemptive contest at least,it could not have worked any better !
