KP has talents, but don’t facilities, Saying Boom Boom Afridi

Peshawar, January 26, 2016. Cricketer Shahid Afridi visited the Army public school on Thursday and distributed the cricket kits among young players of different school of the province. Mostly player belongs to swat and Peshawar.

The event was organized by ISPR in army public school Peshawar in the premises of the IQRA Auditorium Hall. Uncle of the Shahid Afridi, Saeed Raheem Afridi along with the owner of the Peshawar Zalmi Team Javed Afridi, Ex Pakistani Cricket team coach Mohammad Akram, principal of the APS and an army official attended the event.

Owner of the team Javed Afridi while addressing to the occasion and said that they will take more than 150 students of the army public school to Dubai for PSL. He said that if we win the trophy, our team land here and we will give the winner trophy to the APS School. Because we have dedicated the Trophy to the APS Martyred, Who sacrificed their life in APS Incident. He added that, I was studied here at APS for seven years, that’s why I also want to promote APS.

Answering to question of the journalist Owner of the Peshawar Zalmi Javed Afridi said that I know the launching ceremony of the Peshawar Sami was not good, but the reason is situated, which Journalist know better.

Boom Boom Afridi address to the occasion and said that one and half year ago I started different projects for the promotion of cricket and healthy activities in our province. He Praised Mohammad Akram ex coach of Pakistan cricket team for his support in this noble cause.

Shahid Afridi further added that KPK has much more talents in the field of cricket, but our children are facing problem and non availability of the facilities. We don’t have facilities at the school level, that’s why new talent grooming is slow. He said that it’s not necessary that every kid become doctors or join the army, if we have sports facilities at school level, most students will become sportsman.

Captain of T20 team Shahid Afridi also talked about his performance in t20 and said that I know my performance not very well, but its part of the game and cricket is a game of the team. In upcoming PSL we will get more new talent for cricket, also we will promote club cricket in KPK. Then we will go to Sindh and Azad Kashmir for talent hunt. He also urged the other franchise teams to bring the new talents for the promotion of the local and national cricket.

During the question & answer session Shahid Afridi said that the tribe has no schools and college and some bad people use these innocent people, but now in current situation, it’s the duty of every one to work for the development of the tribal area. Pakistani government & army were also working together for the betterment of the tribal area. Because the tribe is the real defender of the border and because of tribal we don’t need security.

At the end Shahid Afridi has distributed the cricket Kits amongst the player, who belongs to different parts of the KP Province. Mostly players belong to swat and Peshawar. Boom Boom Afridi urged the cricketer to give full commandments to the cricket, after the event player and Journalists also takes selfies with Shahid Afridi.
