The World’s Most Notorious Leaders

In no particular order, this list shows a part of history that many would simply like to ignore and believe it did not exist. Unfortunately, these notorious leaders are a part of our history and have left an everlasting impact and have defined how the world is today.
 

Queen Ranaavalona I of Madagascar

The first Queen of Madagascar that killed over 2.5 million people between 1833 -1839. One very vicious lady.


Nero – Roman Emperor

A Roman Emperor who ruled for only 14 years. During this time, he killed without remorse. Nero was responsible for raping women, murdering family members, and burning cities.


 

Attila The Hun

So ruthless and murderous was this Leader of the Huns, that his own people feared his blood-thirsty wrath. Wouldn’t want to get on his bad side.


 

Ivan The Terrible

The first ruler of Russia. It was Ivan IV that launched the 24 year long Livonian War against Sweden, Poland, and Lithuania. It is also said that each day he would gather 500 -1,000 peasants, have them tortured and killed, while he and his son watched on. Truly a horrid ruler.


Leopold II

The King of Belgium from 1865 to 1909. Best known for creating the Congo Free State, where he relied on forced labor through enslavement, mutilation, and rape. It is estimated that he approximately killed 3 to 15 million Congolese.


Hulagu Khan

The grandson of Genghis, another ferocious Mongol leader who put an end to Baghdad. Killing over a million people in a week long destruction of the city.


Harry Truman

The 33rd President of the United States, who authorized the dropping of the first atomic weapon on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, killing over 200,000 people in seconds. The effects of this devastating bomb are still felt in the area.


Kim II Sung

The ruler of North Korean who is responsible for killing over 1.6 million of his own people to proved that an epidemic had spread throughout the countryside.


Hideki Tojo

Originally a general of the Imperial Japanese Army. He was not happy with how the country was being run, so Tojo decided to take on the position of Prime Minister and all other positions of responsibility. In the process, he became responsible for the deaths of over 5 million individuals.
