Axact has been under investigation since May 19, after an article in the New York Times described how the company had made millions of dollars by running hundreds of fake online education websites. Since then, federal investigators have sealed Axact offices in Karachi and Islamabad and requested help from Interpol and the F.B.I. Further, around 45 employees were rounded up, including HR and PR managers, to be taken to FIA headquarters. Recently chief executive, Shoaib Ahmed Shaikh , and four other Axact executives were initially charged with fraud, forgery and illegal electronic money transfers, law enforcement officials said. This scandal raises many Questions; how come it’s taken so long for a big power like USA to figure it out are they that easy to be fooled ? Axact was given Certificate by John Carey so is Pakistan the only one to Blame? Many Americans have taken degree from Axact and are now part of American military in Afghanistan but no one’s going to ask about them. The scandal is revealed at the same time The Pak-China Economic Corridor was in progress, all this points in a direction that maybe this Pak-China Friendship is Hurting America.
