Reading or just going through
the headlines of the one's favorite newspaper is not only a habit but also
second nature with most persons. Unlike the electronic media, especially the
television that brings out news and views round the clock and yet half-succeeds
to covert the viewers into its fans, the print media creates a rewarding
relationship with its readers.As technology advances and media choices increase,
children are developing unconstructive social, learning, and health habits that
many parents are greatly unaware of. Parents don’t realize that the amount of
time children spend consuming media is second most to anything else children do,
besides sleep (Dunnewind, A1). Children today spend more than four hours a day
either watching television, messing around on the computer, or playing video
games.From the individual reader to the society at large, print media performs
multifaceted functions with remarkable reach and immense influence. If the
television informs through the images, the newspaper enlighten through words.
The print media enjoys a very special place in the collective consciousness of
any civilized society.The youth of the world is often the most ready to adapt to
and learn to use new technologies, and they are certainly at the forefront of
social media of all types. They have more technological know-how than many of
older generations as well. Social media, therefore, is certainly having a rather
large impact on their daily lives for good and for bad.
Those who spend too much time on social sites, or who take the abuses of online
bullies seriously on the sites could have some issues. For parents, even those
of teenagers who are 16 and 17, it is important to watch to make sure that
social media sites do not take over the lives of children. When used
appropriately, it can be a very good thing.Media has had a bad effect on a
generation, mainly because ,youth is strongly influenced by media. Teenagers and
children wish to follow the people ,who get recognized and do what they do to
get noticed. Sometimes, they focus on bad part of the media and strive to be a
part of it. However, many are not succumbed to a life of crime!

The media affects people's perspective. Too much intervention of media in
everything is a matter of concern. Media can be considered as "watch dog" of
political democracy. I believe,if the media identifies its responsibility and
work sincerely and honestly ,then it can serve as a great force in building the
nation.
