What is defense day? It is a day of utmost heroic
proud ness for Pakistan and every Pakistani out there."6th September" what comes to our somewhat numb minds in a blink of an eye, when we hear this date; it reminds all the people of Pakistan of the immense
sacrifice's given to protect our beloved country Pakistan. This date takes us back on a long journey of memories full of the sacrifices made by our
honorable heroes of the army. It marks the day of the sacrifices of our soldiers.
After the 1947 Indo-Pakistan separation things were normalizing...although their were some unsolved issues like the water dispute and the
Kashmir issue paving the way but things were somehow rationalizing to some extent.
Then in 1956 out of the blue, the Indian army attacked Pakistan without any
declaration, any sign or warning, this was done to startle the army and catch them off
guard. The Indian forces did what they could do. fantasizing of capturing
Pakistan. but only ALLAH knows best. The Pakistani soldiers did not even for a second tremble with fear but with highest hopes in ALLAH and love for their country the fought against those savage
monsters. The Pakistani army fought with great valour..they're weapons were the most powerful of all bravery, courage, compassion and the love of their country and the
uncountless prayers they were getting from all over the country. Their souls were ready for the
honor of being martyr.

This fight prevailed over a 17 days period and the result was what no
Indian had expected. Pakistan won this war with a great advantage banishing the
Indians out of their country Pakistan. They fought so bravely that the whole world now
appreciates them for their courage and their patriotism.So many of our soldiers lost their lives during this battle some of which are very prominent like:
⦁ Major.Aziz Bhatti:He has been given many awards for his outstanding
bravery, he is also known as "Muhafiz-e-Lahore". He has also been awrded by Nishane-haider and "Sword of
honor"
and to those who do not know what this great man did. just envisage for a moment; two
armies, one battlefield, both sides burning in fire for the blood of each
other. Both fighting with full zeal and energy. however this man did not care of what was happening around him he strived forward and told his army the exact locations to target the
enemy. just think for a moment how hard this could have been to be in his place in middle of all that
affray. One day however unfortunately he got hit by an army tank shell in the chest.
There were many others as well who sacrificed themselves for the safeguard of our
country. Like:

⦁ Sq.Ldr Muhammad Iqbal
⦁ Sq.Ldr Munir Ahmed

Not only these soldiers but many more gave their lives to protect our beloved
country by the help of ALLAH.
I believe Defense day should be celebrated exceedingly. to tell our enemies that we are always ready before
hand. On this day we should all pray for our martyred brothers and
sisters. This day marks a glorious victory which has been placed down as a mighty achievement in history.
Defense day is a day of honur and i believe that people should celebrate
it. there should be a national holiday. everyone should pray for all those who
scarified themselves for our well being instead to one wheeling on bikes on the roads, screaming, putting up loud
music's and creating disturbances. Our country has given us so much it is time now we do something in return. |
