State television blamed "armed terrorist groups" for the attacks in Aleppo. The television said a "suicide bomber in a car packed with explosives" carried out one of the attacks on a police station, flattening a nearby food distribution centre. The second bombing targeted an intelligence base. Soldiers were among the casualties. But the general commission of the Syrian revolution said the attacks were "staged by the regime. Residents of the city of Homs meanwhile say tanks are massed outside several opposition held districts. Overnight, tanks entered the eastern district of Inshaat, next to the protest centre of Baba Amr.
