Govt working for welfare of journalist community.

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said that the government is committed to working for the welfare of journalists. She was talking to a Chitral media delegation that called on her here. Firdous Ashiq Awan said the government has provided conducive environment to media so that they can perform their duties in a professional manner. The government she said believes in freedom of expression as free and responsible media guarantees strong democracy and institutions. She said the government is also establishing a media university with an aim to provide journalists training on most modern lines. Establishment of the university would help to enhance capabilities of journalists she maintained.
