1.What is physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy is a medical treatment used to restore functional movements such as standing,walking and moving different body parts. Only a physiotherapist can correct functional movement imbalances in clients with injuries or medical conditions and they can also implement techniques to prevent injury and improve performance.

Physiotherapist can diagnose patients based on their movement patterns and tailor their treatment plans to their health issues. Physiotherapist are not only knowledgeable in how a body moves, but also how different body systems integrate with movements. They understand how cardiovascular, neurological and endocrine systems can all affect movement. The ultimate goal of a physiotherapist is to teach patients how to prevent injury, manage pain and restore function movements.

Injuries are never just physical there is usually a mental health component involved that is stress depression anxiety that are the contributing factors affecting your health in different ways like muscle spasm, pain etc. A good physiotherapist can adjust a patient's treatment plan to their lifestyle including diet,sleep and daily routine.

Treating diseases by using different techniques e.g. using modalities, electrotherapy,heat therapy, exercises instead of prolonged usage of drugs(medicines) affecting your stomach(GIT),kidneys and liver.

4.Is physiotherapy right for me?Why do i need a specialist,even though it's just about stretches I can easily do at home?

Physiotherapist recognizes that everybody and mind has its own unique potential. Every human being biomechanics, bodily structured building is different. Only physiotherapist, expertise and knowledge of how the body functions as an integrated system. Individualised, corrective exercises and modalities are then applied according to patient condition to optimise recovery. Only physiotherapists can tell you to exercise proper sequence, sets, repetitions of each exercise program and even are they beneficial and exact according to your problem or not.

5.How long will it take to get better after any diagnosis?

It depends on extent of injury and how long it has been present. It will take time to regain functional movement patterns, strength and control. Consistency with attendance and compliance with home exercise programs will accelerate healing and recovery time.
